Katja Huth exhibition
Born into a family of artistic and creative people in Germany, Katja trained in graphic design, and subsequently worked the next decade in design studios and print companies. Now based in Bristol, Katja has spurned the computer and produces her collaged artworks manually.
"I loved graphic design, but developed a pet hate for Photoshop. Working with paper and scissors, rather than digitally, reduces the possibilities and therefor intensifies my concentration and creative output. My material is cut and assembled from vintage magazines, books and catalogs, adding layers of texture to the resulting collages. The results are quirky surrealist pop art that tell new stories."
Katja has become a regular fixture at local art/craft markets, such as Frome Independent, and her work was selected for exhibition at the Royal West of England Academy. This exhibition will feature original collage pieces, alongside a selection of giclee prints and cards.
